VOLUNTEERS

it’s all about the volunteers

Join approximately 1,200 – fourth & fifth grade students as they engage in interactive education about water. It takes over 100 volunteers each year to help make this festival happen. Come join us for the day, work with kids, learn about water resources, and have a great time!

We will work with you to find the area that is best for you! No experience needed. Spend a half-day, full day or anything in between!

It is our volunteers who make this educational experience possible for our 4th and 5th grade students and teachers.

High School Volunteers

We invite grade 11 or 12 classes to participate for the day in this wonderful experiential leadership opportunity. Classes such as Leadership, Biology and/or Environmental Science make for an ideal match.

High school volunteers gain experience in teaching, public speaking, community outreach, and time management. They also receive a Certificate of Appreciation, a free Water Festival t-shirt and lunch. Busing to and from the Water Festival is provided free of charge for high school classes.

Working in pairs, the high school students present a hands-on, 25-minute water-related activity to one group of school children at a time, over the course of the day.

If you are a teacher interested in bringing one or more classes for a day, please contact the Festival Coordinator: TRusch@ccwcd.org.

Presenters of the Children's Water Festival

Volunteers

Dedicated harts like yours
Are not so easy to find.
It takes a special person to be
So generous and kind.

To care so much for your fellow man
Is a quality all too rare.
Yet you give of your time and talents,
For all in need to share.

So thank you for being a volunteer,

We’re privileged to work with you.
We want you to know how appreciated you are,
Not just today, Author Unknown

but the whole year through.
