TEACHER & PRESENTER CHECK-IN TABLES
Volunteers are needed to keep the presenter and teacher check-in areas running quickly and smoothly. Because of the nature of the festival everyone seems to arrive at once and are always in a hurry. Volunteers will check-off those that have arrived, provide them with maps, schedules, lunch tokens, t-shirts, and bags as needed. This is also the location of the First Aid station. Time commitment for area check-in tables is 7:30 am to 10:00 am. Time commitment for first aid station is 7:30 am to 1:30 pm.
Volunteers are needed to help direct traffic of the presenters, volunteers, and school busses. It is essential to keep the traffic flowing in the right direction and safely for the students attending. Time commitment for parking is 8:00 am to 9:30 and again from 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm.
FOOD TRUCK ASSISTANT
Each volunteer and presenter are provided breakfast and lunch the day of the festival. Lunch tokens are traded at the food truck for their meal. Volunteers are needed to keep this area running smoothly and to help serve meals as needed.
Time commitment for food truck assistants is 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.
TEACHER RESOURCE BAGS
Each teacher is provided a resource bag at the end of the day. Bags are delivered to the busses for the teachers. Volunteers are needed to help deliver the bags. Time commitment for resource bag delivery is 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
A photo booth for classroom pictures is in the Exhibit Hall. Teachers and students can have a photo taken at their request. A photographer and assistant is needed in this area. Time commitment for photographer & assistant is 9:00 am to 1:30 pm.
AREA GUIDES & TIMER
Area guides will be stationed around the festival to greet and assist with class movement from station to station. During class presentations, area guides will check in with teachers. During class transitions, area guides will help direct classes to their next presentation. These guides will also help with keeping the festival on schedule by signaling the beginning and end of each session. There will be a morning training for area guides. Time commitment for area guides is 8:00 am to 1:30 pm.
Several of our presenters require assistants at their learning stations. Volunteers for both indoor and outdoor activities are need. This position is great to learn from a veteran presenter and to have one-on-one interaction with students. Time commitment for assistants is 8:00 am to 1:30 pm.
EXHIBIT HALL MONITORS
Volunteers are needed to assist with activities where students have an opportunity and free time to explore different, interactive learning stations. Activities include exploring aquatic bugs, pledging to reduce their water footprint, exploring groundwater, or being encapsulated in a giant bubble. Time commitment for the Exhibit Hall is 8:00 am to 1:30 pm. This can also be a partial day commitment.
FESTIVAL MASCOT – DRIP
The Water Drop (named Drip) is the festival mascot – consisting of a costume that looks like a giant water drop. We could use one volunteer for the mascot, and one assistant to guide the water drops around. Time commitment for the mascot and assistant is 8:00 am to 1:30 pm. This can also be a partial day commitment.
Volunteers are needed to keep all areas of the festival neat and tidy. Picking up trash, fixing a display, whatever it takes to keep the festival safe and clean for our guest. Time commitment for stewards is 8:00 am to 1:30 pm. This can also be a partial day commitment.
TEACHER AND PRESENTER SURVEYS
A few volunteers are needed to collect surveys from teachers, presenter, and other volunteers. This involves walking around and asking to have the survey completed when people have a spare minute. Time commitment for surveys is 10:30 am to 1:00 pm.
We also require a few “floaters” – to serve in last minute roles and to run errands for the CWF Coordinators. This is another role that can work for only a portion of the day.
