SOLAR Committee
August 16, 2022

The meeting of the Solar Committee was called to order at 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, by Committee Chairman Bret Schmidt at the office of the Central Colorado Water Conservancy District located at 3209 W 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado. Committee members present were Bret Schmidt, Everett Kissler, Steve Bruntz, Dave Bernhardt, Gary Herman and Ralph Anders. Staff members present were Randy Ray, William Mihelich and Lynn Kramer.

Adam Davenport from SunShare Community Solar addressed the committee regarding solar garden and floating solar garden locations.

The committee discussed available acreage on the Ewing farm and plans for recharge on the property. Director Herman asked Adam to explain specific contract terms and size requirements for gardens.

Adam asked the committee for permission to contact Morgan County REA to access the power usage records for the Walker and Orchard Projects. Adam will be working on a design for power storage on the properties.

Adam presented Geisert Reservoir as a possible location for a floating garden. Randy suggested the 83rd Avenue pit as a location to partner with the Poudre Learning Center as an educational site.

Director Bruntz asked questions about evaporative loss savings on the reservoirs.

Chairman Schmidt scheduled the next meeting of the committee at 9:00 A.M. on September 20, 2022.

Meeting was adjourned at 9:58 A.M.
