CCWCD Board and Staff hosted back-to-back community meetings last week to discuss the proposed bond measure on the upcoming election. Wednesday night’s meeting was held at the Fort Lupton Community Center and Thursday’s evening meeting was held at the Evans Community Center. Central’s Executive Director, Randy Ray, discussed and answered questions on the $48.7 million in projects to be funded through the bond.
Those projects include:
- Additional lined reservoir storage in the Fort Lupton and Greeley/Kersey areas
- Additional purchase of senior water rights, including rights currently being leased by Central, to ensure this water stays in the community
- Walker Recharge Project in Wiggins, which will recharge water into the aquifer during wet times to be used as a projectable long term supply.
As part of this process, Central recently issued a Community Survey to collect feedback about the potential bond question. That survey solicited questions from the public, and Central has provided the following responses to the most frequently asked questions.
