In October 2017 construction began on Koenig Reservoir neat Fort Lupton. CGRS Construction crews are now finishing up the work at the bottom of the reservoir where the pump will pull the water.  Progress is also being made bringing the column pipe out of the reservoir.  Once this pipe is up the slope of the reservoir and back-filled, construction can begin on the pump station itself and Weld County’s refill station. CCWCD and the City Of Brooomfield are sharing a pipeline back to the river and it is complete up to county roads 20 and 25.  The next step in the pipeline will go under that intersection and on to the river. The estimated time of completion is late spring of this year.
Once all construction is complete CCWCD will be able to to make releases from the reservoir directly to the South Platte River.
