TEACHERS
we are here for you
The goal of The Children’s Water Festival is to allow students to dive deeper into water related issues that face the South Platte River Basin, where our food comes from and how to be better stewards of our natural resources.
2024 – 2025 CHILDREN’S WATER FESTIVAL DATES
Central Colorado Water Conservancy District’s Children’s Water Festival on learning about local water issues to fourth and fifth-grade students in Weld, Morgan, and Adams counties.
This one-day FREE event will bring water professionals from around the state of Colorado to provide presentations and activities about water, water conservation, human health, and aquatic life while covering a wide range of core curriculum areas, including language arts, math, science, social studies, visual arts, and health & wellness. The festival goals are to teach fourth and fifth-grade students that water is an essential, limited resource and that they can take action to protect this natural resource.
By teaching students about the water cycle, their local watershed, water supplies in our area, and today’s water issues, the Children’s Water Festival enhances knowledge and appreciation of our most important natural resource. CCWCD’s education programs are hands-on and engaging for students and help teachers meet requirements for STEM education.
